Qualified M.B.B.S in Sri Lanka in 1984.after licensing in Sri Lanka, moved to Norway. Qualified as a Specialist in family medicine , internal medicine , cardiology and aviation medicine. Presently Working as consultant cardiologist and acting head of the Aviation medicine clinic , Royal Norwegian Airforce(RNAF).
